Mercy-Durango to be Integrated with Centura Health
03/12/2010
On March 11, the CHI Board of Stewardship Trustees approved a proposal to integrate Mercy Regional Medical Center, Durango, CO, into the Centura Health family of hospitals. This followed a unanimous recommendation by Mercy’s Board of Directors and approval by the Centura Board of Trustees.
There are many decisions still to be made, including when the transfer will take place and how the transition will affect Mercy and Centura. Mercy will become Centura Health’s 12th hospital, and is the only CHI-sponsored hospital in Colorado that was not already part of Centura. This consolidation helps fulfill Centura Health’s 2020 strategic plan and is consistent with the mission and vision of CHI. The integration will also expand Centura’s statewide presence to better meet the needs of the communities served. Centura already successfully operates the Mercy Health Foundation, Centura Health at Home and the Hospice of Mercy in Durango.
More information will be shared as the details of the transition are worked out.
